In Europe and America, most architectural glass uses laminated glass. This is not only to avoid accidents but also because laminated glass has excellent resistance to shock and intrusion. The interlayer can withstand continuous attacks from weapons such as hammers and cleavers, and can resist bullet penetration for a considerable period, making its safety extremely high. While laminated glass may shatter under the impact of a heavy ball, the entire pane remains intact, with fragments and sharp pieces adhering to the interlayer. This type of glass does not scatter when broken and is often used in vehicles such as automobiles.

 

Tempered glass requires a greater impact force to shatter. Once broken, the entire pane explodes into countless tiny particles, with only a few fragments remaining in the frame. Ordinary glass shatters easily upon impact, typically producing many long, sharp fragments. When wired glass breaks, jagged fragments surround the opening, and many glass fragments remain around the point of penetration, with the broken wires varying in length.
