Insulating glass, also known as double-glazed glass, is a double-pane glass product consisting of two panes of glass with a gap between them. This gap can be fixed using tempered glass, wired glass, aluminum alloy spacers, etc. The air gap serves functions such as heat insulation, sound insulation, frost prevention, and energy saving. Insulating glass is most commonly used in building doors and windows and exterior walls.
Advantages of Insulating Glass
1. Good thermal insulation: The air gap in the center of the insulating glass reduces heat loss, thereby improving the building's thermal insulation performance.
2. Good sound insulation: Insulating glass also has good sound insulation properties, effectively blocking indoor and outdoor noise.
3. Good light transmission: Insulating glass has good light transmission, allowing bright natural light to fill the room.
4. Frost prevention: Because the air gap in the center of the insulating glass slows down the condensation of cold air on the glass surface, it is less likely to cause frost to affect visibility.
