Since the mass production of monolayer fire-resistant glass in China, fire-resistant glass has been more widely used. However, several points must be noted when using it:

 

1. Before selecting fire-resistant glass, it is essential to understand the specific fire protection requirements of the fire-resistant components composed of it, such as whether it is for fire resistance, heat insulation, or smoke isolation, and the required fire resistance limit.

 

2. Monolayer and composite cast-in-place fire-resistant glass cannot be cut with a glass cutter like ordinary flat glass; it must be custom-made to length. However, composite (dry-process) fire-resistant glass can be cut.

 

3. When selecting fire-resistant glass to compose fire-resistant components, in addition to considering the fire-resistant durability of the glass, its supporting structure and all elements must also meet fire resistance requirements.

 

Monolayer cesium potassium fire-resistant glass undergoes a special chemical treatment involving over twenty hours of ion exchange at high temperatures, replacing the metallic sodium on the glass surface and creating chemical tempering stress. Simultaneously, through physical treatment, high compressive stress is formed on the glass surface, greatly improving its impact resistance. When the glass breaks, it shatters into tiny particles, reducing the risk of injury. The strength of monolithic cesium potassium fireproof glass is 6-12 times that of ordinary glass and 1.5-3 times that of tempered glass.
