Insulating glass is mainly used in buildings requiring heating, air conditioning, noise reduction, condensation prevention, and protection from direct sunlight or special lighting. It is widely used in residences, restaurants, hotels, office buildings, schools, hospitals, shops, and other places requiring indoor air conditioning. It can also be used for doors and windows in trains, automobiles, ships, and refrigerated containers.
Insulating glass is primarily used for the outer glazing decoration. Its optical properties, thermal conductivity, and sound insulation coefficient should all meet national standards. Only insulating glass with a reasonable structure and standard design can it effectively perform its functions of heat insulation, sound insulation, burglar prevention, and fire resistance. Using vacuum-sealed double-glazed tempered glass can even meet laboratory standards! There are also insulating glass products on the market that incorporate inert gases and colored pigment gases, as well as those with decorative strips for reinforcement and decoration.
The function of aluminum spacers in insulating glass: Aluminum is considered a reactive metallic element, but in air, a dense oxide film forms on its surface, preventing it from reacting further with oxygen and water. At high temperatures, aluminum reacts with oxygen, releasing a large amount of heat. Using this high heat of reaction, aluminum can displace metals from other oxides (aluminothermic process).
