Insulating glass consists of two or more layers of flat glass. The edges are sealed with a high-strength, airtight composite adhesive, bonding the two or more panes of glass to the sealing strips and glass panes. Dry gas is filled in the space between the panes, and a desiccant is placed inside the frame to ensure the dryness of the air between the glass panes. Various types of glass with different properties can be selected according to requirements, such as colorless transparent float glass, patterned glass, heat-absorbing glass, heat-reflective glass, wired glass, and tempered glass, and bonded to the frame (aluminum frame or glass strips, etc.) through adhesive bonding, welding, or fusion.

 

A certain space is left between the glass panes of insulating glass. A desiccant is placed inside the frame to ensure the dryness of the air between the glass panes. The spacing between the two panes of insulating glass is generally 8mm.

 

High-performance insulating glass differs from ordinary insulating glass. In addition to sealing dry air between the two panes of glass, a special thermally efficient metallic film is coated on the outer side of the air layer between the glass panes. This film can block a considerable amount of solar energy from entering the room, providing greater heat insulation.
