Definition

Classification

Generally, tempered glass for civilian use is made by heat-treating ordinary glass to increase its strength by 3-5 times. It can withstand a certain amount of external impact or temperature changes without breaking. Even if it breaks, the entire piece of glass shatters into small, blunt-angled, honeycomb-like particles, making it less likely to cause injury, thus providing a certain level of safety. Tempered glass cannot be cut; it must be cut to size before tempering and has a "self-explosion" characteristic. Depending on the application, tempered glass can be further divided into various types, such as fully tempered glass, semi-tempered glass, zone-tempered glass, flat tempered glass, and curved tempered glass.

 

Laminated glass, as a type of safety glass, does not produce sharp shards that can cause injury when broken due to the bonding effect of the PVB film sandwiched between the two pieces of ordinary glass after an impact. Meanwhile, its PVB interlayer's sound insulation and sunlight control properties make it a new type of building material with energy-saving and environmentally friendly functions: laminated glass can not only block 1000Hz-2000Hz matching noise that can penetrate ordinary glass, but it can also block more than 99% of ultraviolet rays and absorb heat in the infrared spectrum. As a new type of building material that meets these performance requirements, laminated glass will inevitably play a significant role in the use of safety glass.
